Darbogaz Koyu is a narrow bay on the east side of the isthmus of the Bozdogan Peninsula, behind Gemiler Island. The bay is deep, with pine forest on its southern side and olive trees on the other.

Its geography, two bays separated by a very narrow strip of land, means you can almost always find a calm spot regardless of wind direction. The water is clear turquoise, and the bay is known for being quiet, especially in the late afternoon after daily tour boats depart.

How to get there

Approach Darbogaz Koyu from the west, rounding the tip of the peninsula near Gemiler Island. The entrance reveals itself as you pass the island; the bay is on the east of the isthmus. Anchor in 10 to 15 meters at the western end of the bay, and take a line ashore on the southwest side.

The seabed is sandy in the middle but rocky at the edges, so be cautious when setting the anchor. There are no roads leading directly to the beach; the nearest village, Kayakoy, is a challenging hike away.
