Full Description & Details
Buyuk Boncuklu Koyu is a horseshoe-shaped bay on the Fethiye Peninsula, about 4 kilometres west of Fethiye town centre. The bay is calm and sheltered, with a sandy beach in places but mostly pebbles and stones, especially on the seabed. Pine forest comes down to the shore, and the water is clear and clean. The bay is a popular day spot for locals and visitors, and it gets busy on weekends and through the summer.
The anchorage offers overnight stays. The seabed is large pebbles and stones, so holding may be less secure than in sand or mud; a careful check of the anchor set is wise. The bay is protected from the open sea and is generally calm. Tender landing is on a sandy beach. There is a small market at the beach park, and the Sea Me Beach restaurant and bar operates on the shore, with shaded kosk seating and occasional evening events.
On land, the beach park has free showers, changing cabins and toilets. Sun loungers, umbrellas and cardak shelters are available for a fee. There is a picnic and barbecue area, a children's playground, a walking track and a mountain bike trail. Kayak rental, scuba diving and sailing within the bay are offered. Camping in the forest area is possible, so bringing your own camping gear is recommended if you plan to stay overnight on land.
Fethiye town centre is about 4 kilometres away, with the Kayakoy ghost town and Fethiye Peninsula walks nearby. The bay is accessible by road from Karagozler, Tersane and Letonya, about a 10 minute drive, or by dolmus from Fethiye centre. There is no entry fee for the bay itself, but a parking fee applies for cars. The bay is best visited in calm summer conditions, though weekend and summer crowds should be expected.
How to get there

There are no published navigational hazards specific to the bay in the sources, but the seabed is large pebbles and stones, so anchor with care and check the set.
