Full Description & Details
Puerto Deportivo de Santona is a working harbour in Santona, Cantabria, on Spain's north coast. It is the main fishing port in Cantabria by volume of landings and auction value, and it also has a recreational marina. The port has 336 berths, with a maximum boat length of 18 metres and a maximum draft of 10 metres.
Recent expansion works, completed in May 2025, added two new mooring lines on the west face of the outer breakwaters, increasing berthing capacity by about 40 vessels, bringing total capacity to around 130 boats during the peak anchovy season. The port is managed by the regional government of Cantabria, and the recreational pontoons in the south basin are regulated by a specific decree.
How to get there
The port is located in Santona, on the eastern coast of Cantabria, near the mouth of the Ason estuary. Nearby ports include Puerto Deportivo de Laredo and Puerto deportivo Colindres, both about 3 nautical miles away. The harbour is entered via the main channel, and the new mooring areas are on the west side of the outer breakwaters.
