Full Description & Details
Port de Santa Pola is a working harbour and marina on the Costa Blanca, in the Valencian Community. The port is divided into two parts: the fishing basin, sheltered by the levante mole and stretching over 700 metres, and the club nautico on the poniente mole. The Generalitat Valenciana has expanded the facilities, adding new public-tariff berths to meet growing demand for moorings. It remains one of the most important fishing ports on the Spanish Mediterranean, and the daily catch is landed here each afternoon. Dozens of ferries leave daily for Tabarca Island, and Santa Pola Castle is nearby.
The marina offers 1,078 berths in total. Of these, 434 are direct-management sport moorings for vessels up to 8 metres, with depths of 2.0 to 3.0 metres. A further 644 berths are under concession to the club nautico, taking vessels up to 25 metres with depths of 2.0 to 4.5 metres. The harbour entrance has a depth of 7.0 metres. Mooring is by lines and stern-to the quay. The port is sheltered between the fishing quay and the club nautico. Holding is not a concern as berths are alongside pontoons.
Facilities include fuel (diesel and SP 95 petrol), water, electricity, wifi, showers, toilets, laundry, ice sales, a 10-tonne crane, a slipway, waste oil recovery and recycling. There is a night watchman and video surveillance. Supermarkets and shops are within walking distance in Santa Pola town, about 500 metres away, and numerous seafood restaurants line the port promenade. The port office is at Muelle de Poniente, s/n, 03130 Santa Pola, phone 965 412 403.
In April 2026 the Generalitat began improvement works at Port de Santa Pola with an investment of over 500,000 euros, including reinforcing the quay edge, resurfacing damaged areas, renewing mooring points, new signage and closing off the port installations. A photovoltaic power supply system, funded with 242,472 euros from European funds, was being installed and is expected to be operational shortly. Overnight stays are permitted. The port is accessible at all times and entry is free. Best season is the Mediterranean summer, though the port operates year-round.
