Full Description & Details
Port d'Altea is a marina in Altea Bay, at the foot of the village of Altea on Spain's Costa Blanca. The harbour, originally a fishing port, was remodelled in 1985 to take recreational craft. The entrance opens to the south, a little over a mile from Punta del Albir, and the port is well protected from all winds.
The fishing boats moor on the east quay, while the club occupies the pontoons that start from the shore quay. The harbour is a useful daytime landmark, and at night the lighthouse on the hill and the port lights are visible.
How to get there
The harbour entrance opens to the south, and the approach is aided by the lighthouse on Punta del Albir, about 1.5 miles away. On entry, keep nearer to the starboard side; one skipper reported touching bottom at 1.9 metres when going down the middle.
A dangerous wreck lies about 0.4 miles SSE of the harbour entrance. Contact the marina on VHF channel 9.
