Full Description & Details
Marina El Portet de Denia is a 501-berth marina on the southwest side of the large port of Denia on Spain's Costa Blanca. It sits about 500 metres from the town centre, in the Barri Port area of Denia, Alicante. The marina is part of a bigger harbour complex that includes a ferry port and other marinas, but El Portet operates as its own facility with its own entrance and services.
The marina offers good protection, with depths ranging from 2 to 3 metres and a maximum draft of 3 metres. Berths are limited to vessels up to 8 metres in length overall. Mooring is stern to dock on concrete pontoons. Water and electricity are charged separately. Holding is not an issue here since berths are on pontoons rather than anchors. The harbour entrance has a depth of 7 metres, and the approach is safe even in poor weather according to regional port information.
Facilities include fuel (diesel and petrol), water, power, wifi, showers, toilets and laundry. A supermarket is a 10 minute walk away, and a fresh fruit and vegetable market operates in the town centre. The restaurant area is 5 minutes on foot, with many cafes and bars in town. The marina office can be reached on VHF channel 09, by phone at +34 966 426 675, or by email at [email protected].
Approach from the east is simple and well marked. Give the coast immediately south of Denia a very wide berth, as it is a nature reserve with a minimum depth of 20 metres; inside this area you must stay below 3 knots. The marina is a port of entry for Spain. Overnight stays are permitted. The best season is the Mediterranean summer, though the harbour is designed to remain accessible in rough conditions.
