Full Description & Details

Puerto Deportivo de Gallineras is a 303-berth marina in San Fernando, on the inner shore of the Bay of Cadiz in Andalusia. It sits at the Club Nautico de Gallineras, a traditional fishing and sailing area with a working waterfront, a promenade and a bridge walk to the caseta del marinero. The marina is a practical stopover for boats up to 20 metres LOA, with a mix of fixed pontoons and a floating pontoon at the southwest end.

Protection comes from the bay's sheltered position, with the marina's own breakwater and pontoons. Berths are alongside pontoons, and there is a waiting pontoon plus a boarding pontoon. Holding is not described in the sources, so anchoring is not a reliable option here; the marina is the intended berth. Water and electricity are available at the berths, and overnight stays are permitted.

Facilities on site include fuel supply, a crane for hauling and launching, a travel lift, a slipway, a workshop, and a black-water pump-out. There is a bar, a restaurant run by a private company, a supermarket, ice, a pharmacy, first aid, weather information, a bank, car hire, and waste-oil and rubbish collection. The marina has 24-hour surveillance and security, plus wheelchair access and adapted parking. The clubhouse restaurant is well regarded locally, and members get discounts.

Approach is via the Bay of Cadiz, with beacons marking the floating pontoons and entrance buoys; the southwest pontoon end shows a green light, the southeast end a red group light. There is no VHF channel listed, so contact the marina by phone on 956 48 62 59. The marina is in San Fernando, close to Cadiz city and its airport, with road access to the town. A planned expansion with additional floating berths has been proposed but is not confirmed as built.

How to get there

Approach Puerto Deportivo de Gallineras from the Bay of Cadiz, heading into the sheltered waters off San Fernando. The marina entrance is marked by beacons: the floating pontoon's southwest end shows a green light (Ct V 1s), the southeast end a red group light (GpD(3) R 10s), and there are red and green entrance buoys on the port and starboard sides. A wreck buoy (white, DB) is also listed nearby, so keep a lookout. No VHF channel is published, so call the marina office on 956 48 62 59 for berth allocation.

Land access is from San Fernando town, with the marina address at C. Cayo Junio Draco, s/n. Cadiz city and its airport are a short distance away, and the marina is reachable by road from the town centre. There is no formalities information in the sources beyond the standard marina berth booking.
