Full Description & Details
Porto de Pedras Negras, also known as Porto do Espino, is a marina on the southern side of the O Grove peninsula in Galicia, Spain. It sits at San Vicente do Mar, a short distance from the beach of the same name, and is one of the busier recreational harbours in the Ria de Arousa area during the summer. The marina was awarded a Blue Flag in 2011 and is operated by the Club Nautico San Vicente do Mar.
How to get there
Approaching from the Ria de Arousa, keep at least 0.8 nautical miles off the coast to avoid the many shoals and islets. Once off Praia da Lanzada, in about 20 metres of water, look for the entrance channel marked first by a red buoy and a green buoy indicating the Piedra Seca and Sinal de Balea shoals respectively; the harbour entrance itself is marked with red and green lights. From the Ria de Pontevedra, use the Fagilda channel between Isla de Ons and Punta Fagilda, where depths range from 9.4 to 15 metres between the marked Picamillo and Fagilda shoals, then head for the marked access channel. The marina monitors VHF channel 9. Entry is not recommended during south-westerly and north-westerly storms. The marina is at San Vicente do Mar on the O Grove peninsula, with road access from the town of O Grove; the nearest airport is Santiago de Compostela, about 70 kilometres away.
