Full Description & Details

Port Olimpic is a 700-berth marina on the seafront of Barcelona, Spain, between the beaches of Somorrostro and Nova Icaria. It sits at the foot of the Olympic Village neighborhood, with the Torre Mapfre, Hotel Arts and Frank Gehry's fish sculpture as landmarks. The marina has been rebuilt over the past years to open it to the city as a public space, and it is open year-round.

The marina offers good shelter in the basin. Depths reach 7 metres, and berths take boats from 7 to 30 metres in length. Mooring is stern to dock with mooring lines. Holding in the bay near the marina entrance is an alternative for anchoring. The marina has 700 berths for long-term and daily rental, with water, electricity and Wi-Fi at the mooring points.

Facilities include fuel, showers, restrooms, laundry, a boat ramp, a lifting crane and a travelift for boats up to 20 metres, plus repair workshops and a chandlery. Ashore, the Gastronomic Balcony has eleven restaurants and three gourmet spaces. Supermarkets and shops are within walking distance in Barcelona, about 500 metres from the marina. The harbour office is at Moll de Xaloc, 08005 Barcelona, phone +34 93 356 10 16.

Port Olimpic monitors VHF channel 09. The marina hosted the America's Cup in 2024 and remains a venue for regattas. Boats that do not produce emissions are given preference for berths. The marina is well connected to Barcelona's public transport network.

How to get there

Port Olimpic lies on Barcelona's coastline at 41 degrees 23.22 minutes N, 2 degrees 12.00 minutes E, between the beaches of Somorrostro and Nova Icaria. The marina is a prominent feature of the coast and is easily identified by the Torre Mapfre and Hotel Arts towers. Contact the harbour office on VHF channel 09 when approaching.

By road, the marina is reached via Marina Street or Moll de Gregal. Barcelona's main airport is a short distance away. The harbour office is at the Capitania building on Moll de Xaloc.
