Full Description & Details
Port de l'Ampolla is a public fishing and pleasure port in the Gulf of Sant Jordi, in the town of l'Ampolla, Baix Ebre, Catalonia. The marina basin is managed by Club Nautic l'Ampolla and lies between Platja de les Avellanes to the northeast and Platja de l'Arquitecte to the southwest. The port is sheltered, but entrance can be difficult in strong NW winds (Mistral); an extended outer wall provides additional protection.
The marina offers 512 berths for vessels up to 15 m LOA and 4.5 m draft. Berth sizes range from 6 x 2.5 m to 15 x 5 m. About 25% of berths are reserved for transient yachts.
Anchoring is possible outside the port in 5-8 m over sand. Holding is good on sand bottom.
How to get there
Approach by sea is straightforward. Use the Punta del Fangar lighthouse as a leading mark. Coming from the south, round the Ebro delta and monitor depth, which can be shallow and variable in places.
The marina basin is on the quay of Ribera once inside the port. VHF contact is not specified in sources; phone the marina on 977 460 211 for berth assignment. The town of l'Ampolla is 200 m from the port, with shops, restaurants, and a train station within walking distance.
Barcelona is 170 km away by train or road. The marina address is Avinguda Maritima s/n, 43895 L'Ampolla, Tarragona.
