Full Description & Details

Port d'Arenys is a combined fishing and sports harbour on the Catalan coast at Arenys de Mar, about 22 nautical miles from Barcelona and 13 from the Costa Brava. The marina is run by the Club Nautic Arenys de Mar, a yacht club founded in 1952. The harbour is easy to pick out from the sea thanks to a large building just behind it. The port is open all year, and the club organises regattas almost every weekend, along with a sailing school and a Base Nautica offering paddle surfing, windsurfing, dinghy sailing, kayaking and diving courses.

The sports basin holds 611 berths for boats from 6 to 20 metres, with a maximum draft of 8 metres. Depths in the basin range from 1.5 to 6 metres, and the entrance channel has a depth of 6 metres. The entrance is 180 metres wide. Protection is from the east and southwest. Berths have water, electricity, Wi-Fi and 24-hour surveillance, and there is a transit quay on a pontoon just inside the entrance next to the petrol station. Mooring is stern to dock with catways.

Facilities include showers, restrooms, a laundromat, ice for sale, a sewage water facility, a boat ramp, a lifting crane and a Travel Lift for 150 tons. There is a petrol station supplying diesel and RON 95 petrol. The harbour has a boatyard, two shipyards, workshops and nautical shops, plus a car park. The yacht club has a restaurant with a terrace, a swimming pool and a nautical library. Supermarkets and shops are in Arenys de Mar town centre, about 500 metres away.

Contact the harbour office on VHF channel 9 or by phone at 937 920 745. The port is open all year, but expect busy weekends because of the regatta schedule. If no berth is available, anchoring is possible in the bay south of the harbour. The nearest airports are Barcelona at 57.6 km and Girona at 51.7 km, and there is a train station in Arenys de Mar.

How to get there

Approach Port d'Arenys from the sea on coordinates 41 degrees 34.75 minutes N, 2 degrees 33.48 minutes E. The entrance is 180 metres wide and 8 metres deep, with a channel depth of 6 metres. About 1.5 miles to the south there is a well-signposted fish farm. The transit quay is on a pontoon just inside the entrance, next to the petrol station.

Call the harbour office on VHF channel 9 before entering. By road, reach Arenys de Mar from Barcelona via the N-II or C-32, or from Tarragona and Girona via the AP-7 connecting to the C-32. A train station serves the town.
