Full Description & Details

Club de Vela del Port d'Andratx is a full-service marina on the west side of the harbour entrance at Port d'Andratx, on the southwestern tip of Mallorca about 20 miles west of Palma. Founded in 1968, it is a medium-capacity facility with 475 wet berths and accommodates vessels up to 35 metres length overall and 4 metres draught. Its moorings are Mediterranean-style with a bow line provided. The marina occupies the extensive waterfront on the left when entering the cove, while the adjacent inner basin hosts a fishing fleet that transits twice daily.

The marina provides water and electricity (220V and 380V single-phase and three-phase) at all berths, along with toilets, showers and a laundry service. A fuel quay on the inner west side supplies diesel and petrol; vessels carrying more than two tonnes must request fuel service 12 hours in advance. A travel lift rated up to 100 tonnes and a three-tonne hoist handle haul-out, supported by a pressure sprayer for cleaning vessels. Repair shops, mechanics and painters may access the yard with prior authorisation. There is a restaurant, cafe and bar on site, and the facility offers dry dock, port esplanade land-stay, waste containers, recycling stations, grey-water pump-out and bilge cleaning. Ice is available for sale at the service station.

Entering the cove and harbour presents no particular difficulties, although the surrounding geography can generate significant storms in winter that have historically caused damage. The club controls the mooring balls laid in the harbour and anchoring is now prohibited outside the designated areas. The marina maintains a 24-hour VHF watch on channels 9 and 16 year-round. Office hours vary seasonally: 09:00 to 20:00 from September to May and 09:00 to 21:00 from June to August. Fuel-station hours also shift by month and day of the week. All transient passers-by must obtain accreditation from the sea crew upon mooring, and facility access is controlled by proximity card with external camera monitoring from the office.

How to get there

Entering the cove and harbour presents no particular difficulties. The marina lies on the west side when entering. Moorings are Mediterranean-style and the club provides a bow line.

Anchoring is prohibited in most of the harbour except far out at the mouth, and the club controls the laid mooring balls. Call the marina on VHF channel 9 or 16. The inner basin hosts a fishing fleet that transits twice daily.

Port d'Andratx is not a port of entry to Spain, so international clearance must be completed elsewhere. Palma Airport (PMI) is approximately 28 km away, and the city of Palma lies about 20 miles to the east. The marina is on the extreme southwestern tip of Mallorca.

Transient crews must obtain accreditation from the sea crew upon mooring, and facility access is controlled by proximity card.
