Full Description & Details

Pristanisce Piran occupies the northern side of Piran's historic waterfront and is divided into several sections: the large and small mandrac (inner basins), a new pier and the main pier where larger vessels berth and border formalities take place. The marina is operated by the municipal utility company Javno podjetje OKOLJE Piran d.o.o. and provides basic services for visiting yachts.

The facility is equipped with electrical connections, fresh water and sanitary facilities. Daily berths are located in the area designated for public traffic, and advance reservation of daily berths is not possible. Berthing fees are calculated according to vessel length, with pricing set by municipal decision and published in the official gazette.

The outer harbour has undergone multiple expansions since the 14th century, with significant development in 1893–1894 when the outer pier was extended by 90 metres and two additional piers were constructed to create an enclosed harbour. The inner mandrac once extended deep into the peninsula, occupying much of what is now Tartini Square, but was filled in during the late 19th century. The harbour historically served as an important junction between northern Istria and other Adriatic ports during Venetian rule, supporting trade in salt, oil, wine and fish.

Skippers should note that the main pier handles larger vessels and border control procedures. The marina's regulations and berthing allocation rules are governed by municipal ordinances, with waiting lists maintained for permanent berths. Accessibility provisions for disabled or mobility-impaired persons are documented in the harbour regulations.
