Full Description & Details
Marina Porto Levante is a large marina in the Po Delta, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, on the Adriatic coast of Italy. It lies south of Alborella Island in the province of Rovigo, about 40 km from Rovigo and 70 km from Padua and Ferrara. The marina covers 85,000 square meters and provides 520 berths for vessels from 6 to 18 meters in length. The maximum draft at the quay is 3.5 meters.
Each berth is equipped with power and water connections. Onsite amenities include wifi, showers, a restaurant, laundry facilities, and a crane for hauling boats. The marina is open for overnight stays.
How to get there
Approach the harbor via the northern outlet of the Po di Levante river estuary at 45°04.680'N, 012°21.840'E, between two long training walls oriented NNW. Maintain a bearing of 240 degrees on a conspicuous water tower with two concrete rings until entering the river. Approach depths are around 5.0 meters but shoal to 2.5 meters or less outside the safe channel, so entry is best attempted on a rising tide near high water. Once in the river, depths range from 4.0 to 5.0 meters; stay in the center of the channel, as the port side is marked with concrete and wooden posts.
The channel curves east after passing Marina di Albarella, then turns west towards the training walls. Do not enter the river; instead, pass south of the training walls along the channel marked with wooden posts on the port side. Follow the lagoon's channel markers (locally called 'briccole') for about one nautical mile, then turn right for an additional 400 meters. The marina entrance is at the base of the southerly training wall, indicated by a white light on the channel marker, with red and green lights marking the port and starboard sides.
Avoid entry during fog or strong onshore winds. The marina monitors VHF channel 9.
