Full Description & Details
Marina Elounda is a new private marina under construction in Mirabello Bay, part of the larger Elounda Hills resort development by the Mirum Group. The marina is designed to offer 202 berths for vessels ranging from 6 to 70 meters, including superyachts, with a land area of 28,540 square meters that will include service buildings for yacht passengers. As of late 2024, the marina is still under construction, with a soft opening planned for 2027. The project emphasizes sustainability, with a pledge of zero waste, and will be managed by Camper & Nicholsons Marinas. The marina is a key component of a broader investment exceeding 700 million euros that includes hotels, villas, restaurants, and a botanical garden.
How to get there
Marina Elounda is located in Elounda, on the northeastern coast of Crete, within Mirabello Bay. The bay is well known to cruisers and offers a sheltered anchorage, though the new marina itself is not yet open. Until the marina is completed, visiting yachts should use the existing harbor facilities in Elounda village or anchor in the bay. The nearest airport is Nikos Kazantzakis in Heraklion, about 65 kilometers to the west, with road access to Elounda via the main coastal highway. Formal marina services, including berthing and VHF procedures, will be established once the marina opens in 2027. For now, skippers should rely on local harbor information and approach with caution due to ongoing construction works.
