Full Description & Details

Angistri marina sits at Megalochori, the main port and traditional village on the island's north coast, about 4 miles off Aegina in the Saronic Gulf. The harbour is small, with space for roughly 10 to 15 visiting yachts, and mooring is stern-to with an anchor or alongside the pontoon. Depths run 2 to 3 metres alongside, with a maximum of 4 metres, and the marina can take boats up to 60 metres LOA.

The village offers a quieter, more authentic alternative to nearby Skala, with tavernas, shops, and car or bike rental. The best protection from northerly winds is the mole, but it is generally reserved for local boats and the ferry; visitors use the pontoon or adjacent pier sections, where the southwest pier often has more space. Water and electricity are available through prepaid cards, and fuel can be delivered by tanker truck.

Mooring fees are collected by a harbour fund employee, typically around 10 euros per day. The marina has no formal organisation, so facilities are limited, but a restaurant and basic supplies are close by.

How to get there

Approach Megalochori harbour from the northeast, where the entrance is marked with buoys and lights. The entrance position is approximately 37°42.812′ N, 23°20.907′ E. Depths are adequate for small to medium vessels, but check local guides for precise measurements. The mole at 37°42.842′ N, 23°20.860′ E provides the best shelter from northerly winds but is generally inaccessible to visiting yachts; its western part is used by local boats and the eastern part by the ferry.

Visitors should head for the pontoon or the adjacent pier sections, with more space usually available at the pier southwest of the pontoon around 37°42.828′ N, 23°20.811′ E. The harbour is in the village of Megalochori, also known as Mylos, on the island of Angistri. The nearest airport is Athens International, about 50 kilometres away, with ferry connections from Piraeus. For fuel delivery, contact +30 6976 749296.
