Queensway Quay Marina occupies the eastern aspect of Gibraltar Harbour's middle section, south of Coaling Island and east of the harbour's south entrance. The facility sits at the historic Ragged Staff Wharf, thought to be Gibraltar's oldest wharf, originally built by the Spanish and improved by the British in 1736. The marina is the southernmost of Gibraltar's three marinas, positioned away from the airport and its associated noise and fuel odours. Residential complexes provide an impressive backdrop, with restaurants, bars and shops within the development.
The marina provides 156 berths with a maximum depth of 4.5 metres, accommodating vessels up to 100 metres in length. All berths have metered water and electricity on pontoon, with some berths offering cable television and telephone access. Power supplies reach up to 500 amps, and in-berth grey and black water disposal is available. The facility offers stern-to and bow-to floating pontoon berthing. Security gates with pass numbers control access to all pontoons.
Shoreside services include toilets, showers, a launderette, chandlery, yacht agency, marine electronics company, sailing school and travel agency. Restaurants, bars and shops are located within the marina complex. The marina is a short walk from Gibraltar's town centre. As Gibraltar is outside the EU Customs Territory, the facility serves as a location for vessels to reset their VAT status without leaving the Mediterranean.
The marina specialises in superyacht winter berths and long-term berthing arrangements. Visitors enter Gibraltar Harbour through the south entrance between the South Mole and Detached Mole. Customs clearance is handled by the marina following the closure of Gibraltar's Yacht Reporting Berth in late 2005.
